When Private Jet Charter Is Worth It — and When It Is Not
Private jet charter is useful when the commercial timetable, the airport experience, or the passenger list does not fit a scheduled flight. It is not automatically cheaper, and SM Concierge is not an aviation operator.

When charter usually makes sense
- Several people travelling on the same city pair, so one cabin replaces several airline tickets plus hotel nights caused by a missed connection.
- A same-day or multi-city day that scheduled airlines cannot cover without an overnight.
- A need for a smaller airfield closer to the destination than the main commercial airport.
- A conversation or passenger list that should not sit in a public cabin.
When it usually does not
- A single passenger on a well-served long-haul route, unless privacy or timing is the point.
- An empty-leg “deal” that does not match your dates. Empty legs are opportunistic; they are not a product we can guarantee.
- A request that assumes SM Concierge owns the aircraft. Licensed partners operate the flight. We coordinate the brief, the options and the ground piece.
Cost without fake maths
Published charter ranges vary by aircraft, routing, positioning (empty legs to pick you up), handling, catering and overnight crew. A first-class fare for one person is not a like-for-like comparison with a midsize jet for six. Ask for an all-in figure and what would change it. We do not advertise a percentage saving.
What we actually do
